November 2018 – 3k on the Green

It was a miserable day and our expectations were for a relatively low sub 100 turnout. However a remarkable 127 runners turned up and completed the race and raised £314 for Social Bite, a homeless charity. Given the wind and rain, along with the cold from hanging about at the start, times were generally down […]

January 2018 Run

Perfect conditions saw a fantastic 118 runners at 3k on the Green. Not only that we saw the Mens course record lowered to 8.31 by James Bowness of Trafford AC. So hopefully more good things to come from this race through 2018. The event was also supported by Run 4 It with discount vouchers provided […]

Feb 2016 3K

Thanks again to all 87 3k runners today, the day before the National Cross Country for many. After last months pretty wild day it was a perfect running day today. The yellow theme (sorry I was late advising of this) was based on the fact that my employer, Clydesdale Bank, rather than just matching all […]

November 3k on the Green

For the first time in my memory we had miserable weather for the 3k on the Green. I’d been following the weather forecast for much of this week and it proved to be pretty accurate, cold and wet from registration through to the finish. So I was truly surprised to see so many at registration, […]

July Summary

I’d received quite a few new entries in the days running up to July’s 3k on the Green so after breaking our record of 88 runners in June I was expecting that to be broken again with around 100 entrants. The swarm of 139 runners that descended on Glasgow Green as we approached 12.30 was […]

2014 Summary

This year we have had over 300 people take part in at least one 3k on the Green race. November was a fairly momentous run for the 3k. It saw a record entry of 78 runners, a new ladies course record of 10.04 by Lyndsay Morrison, the race won by 3k website creator Kevin Brydon […]

Race Report April 2014

Good strong run and win for Gordon Robertson today. Delighted also to have Ian Beattie, Chairman of Scottish Athletics along at the race. At 3k he’s leaving his training late if he’s building up for his usual run later in the summer at the West Highland Way Race.

Race Report March 2014

Another good turnout. Despite a fair forecast earlier in the week by Friday lunchtime it was pretty windy, and towards the end of the race the rain had started. Still some great times, the race won in 9.08 and good number of sub 10min times. Well done to all.

Race Report January 2014

After the December break it was great to see a record 72 entrants in the January event, which included 21 new registrations. Participant numbers have been steadily increasing in recent months which is great. Not only that we had 25 runners in the January 2013 event so a huge increase this year. Lesley Chisholm came […]

Race Report September 2013 – 2 years on!!

The run on 27th September will be the second anniversary since I took on the admin of this event. In that time we have had almost 400 people take part in at least one run. From a place / timing perspective thankfully our maximum single race entry has been 74 – but I’m sure we […]
