3k on the Green has been on the go for several years. I took on its organisation in September 2011. By April 2012, when this site launched over 100 people have taken part in at least one race.

It’s a good opportunity for a short, sharp testing run ahead of the weekend. I suspect most runners work or live near to Glasgow Green, turning up ready to run gives an opportunity for a warm up on the way to the start. That said we have had entrants from as far afield as Norway – Ok they were visiting relatives!.

It’s organisation is straightforward, the facilities basic (non existant might be a better description) and the entry fees go to charity so you can feel even better with yourself – a lunchtime run and a charitable donation.

Hopefully most find it a good addition to the race calendar, you dont find many 3ks.
