No Race in May

We’re taking a break from 3k on the Green in May.

In recent months the number of entrants has been growing (122 in April) and we’ve been a bit light on volunteers – and one of our regulars, Dave, is moving away soon.

So we’ve taken a bit of a step back to think of how we can deliver a better, efficient event for both runners and volunteers going forward and we need a bit more help at registration/finish (4 people) and on the course (2 on course marshalls – finally one at the turn!).

So, can you help? We’re not challenging Park Run but when we resume in June we’ll be looking for a few volunteers each event to help us out and keep the race going. We’ll issue a reminder on a Facebook a week or so before the race as a reminder and to ensure we have sufficient to go ahead.

Thanks for your support

3k on the Green is a flat, accurately measured road race taking place in Glasgow Green usually on the last Friday of each month. Starting at the McLennan Arch the course follows the Clyde upstream for just over 1.5km where a quick turn takes the runners back along the same path but this time going downstream to finish at the boat house. See the map for an approximate route

3k on the Green is an event for all abilities, from experienced club runners to the recreational jogger. Every runner gets a number and every runner gets a time. Nobody is too fast or too slow!

Time and Location

Usually 12:30pm on the last Friday of the month at Glasgow Green. Check the fixtures for the next race.

Registration begins at around 12:10 and finishes just before the start of the race. There are no changing facilities at the race but, at your risk, we will keep an eye on any items you bring with you.

The cost of the race is £2 with all proceeds going to charity.  Once you’ve registered, so long as you run within about the next 6 months there is no longer any need to complete an entry form for any future race you enter. Just come along as your name should be on our list. (we cleanse the entrants list periodically to make it more manageable at registration)
