Race Report

Feb 2016 3K

Thanks again to all 87 3k runners today, the day before the National Cross Country for many. After last months pretty wild day it was a perfect running day today. The yellow theme (sorry I was late advising of this) was based on the fact that my employer, Clydesdale Bank, rather than just matching all […]

Race Report July 2015

Shettleston on top The clouds and chilly air apparently did not put off any runners this month as we enjoyed a record turnout for 3K on the Green, with over 140 competing in total. Fittingly, this coincided with another first for the event whereby all race finishers were rewarded for their endeavours with a free […]

Race Report June 2015

All stars We had a stellar line-up at the 3K on the Green this month, with a particularly strong set of ladies. Lyndsay Morrison returned to blitz her own course record and set a new one of 9.47. Chasing her down were Leslie Chisholm (10.00), and Kara Tait (10.12). These three girls are in fabulous […]

Race Report May 2015

With the sun breaking through the clouds, today was a perfectly pleasant day to be out running. It finally feels like the start of summer. For beginners and social runners, this is the prime time to get outdoors and get active: 3K on the Green is ideal for individuals building towards 5Ks and 10Ks or […]

2014 Summary

This year we have had over 300 people take part in at least one 3k on the Green race. November was a fairly momentous run for the 3k. It saw a record entry of 78 runners, a new ladies course record of 10.04 by Lyndsay Morrison, the race won by 3k website creator Kevin Brydon […]

Race Report April 2014

Good strong run and win for Gordon Robertson today. Delighted also to have Ian Beattie, Chairman of Scottish Athletics along at the race. At 3k he’s leaving his training late if he’s building up for his usual run later in the summer at the West Highland Way Race.

Race Report March 2014

Another good turnout. Despite a fair forecast earlier in the week by Friday lunchtime it was pretty windy, and towards the end of the race the rain had started. Still some great times, the race won in 9.08 and good number of sub 10min times. Well done to all.

Race Report January 2014

After the December break it was great to see a record 72 entrants in the January event, which included 21 new registrations. Participant numbers have been steadily increasing in recent months which is great. Not only that we had 25 runners in the January 2013 event so a huge increase this year. Lesley Chisholm came […]

Race Report September 2013 – 2 years on!!

The run on 27th September will be the second anniversary since I took on the admin of this event. In that time we have had almost 400 people take part in at least one run. From a place / timing perspective thankfully our maximum single race entry has been 74 – but I’m sure we […]

Race Report May 2013

This month I’ve chosen to split the entry money raised (£120) between the STV Appeal (Mark Beaumont challenge) and Orkidstudio. The night before the race I went along to a talk being given by Mark Beaumont (round the world cyclist) which he was giving as a fundraiser for the charity Orkidstudio, of which he is […]
