28th January 2022 – 3k on the Green return

I plan to resume 3k on the Green, live, at Glasgow Green on Friday 28th January, 12.30pm. Format will be as before but I may be looking for a few volunteers to help at the event registration and timekeeping. Anyway, a date for the diary for now.

Virtual 3k – Feb 2021

Thanks to everyone who took part in the first Virtual “3k on the Green”.  Hope you all enjoyed it and has set a 3k benchmark for this year and pushed you into racing mode for the first time in a while – it did for me. I guess it’s really just a Virtual 3k since […]

Given the wind and rain, along with the cold from hanging about at the start, times were generally down […]

January 2018 Run

July Summary

I’d received quite a few new entries in the days running up to July’s 3k on the Green so after breaking our record of 88 runners in June I was expecting that to be broken again with around 100 entrants. The swarm of 139 runners that descended on Glasgow Green as we approached 12.30 was […]

Welcome!

3k on the Green has been on the go for several years. I took on its organisation in September 2011. By April 2012, when this site launched over 100 people have taken part in at least one race. It’s a good opportunity for a short, sharp testing run ahead of the weekend. I suspect most […]
